I'm Not Really Using Twitter Anymore

It's been about a month now. I haven't updated since August 12. I like the idea and all, but I think my problem is that my peers aren't really using the system.

I'm on the tail end my honeymoon right now, and it would have been cool to keep everyone updated. In hindsight, I should have sent the link to my family so that they could keep track of what's going on. I won't close down my account or count it out by any means, but I need more of my friends on it first.

On the flip side, I'm loving Google Reader. I was using iGoogle to keep track of RSS feeds for a while, but it got tedious to track new posts and catch up on ones I missed. I also found iGoogle couldn't always find all the RSS feeds I wanted.

Google reader, on the other hand, is awesome. I never miss a post (though I scan by most). I can star articles, as well as email them to people. It's also very easy to add feeds to it.

Just before I left, they integrated it with Google Gears, so I could read offline. That has been useful as the Maritimes of Canada doesn't have great wireless or GSM coverage.

I'm know people have been using rss aggregaters for years - the client side ones anyway. What's nice google reader is that I can access it from any computer or blackberry; I don't have to depend on having my laptop around.
